Dr. Prof. Vakhtang Charaia is a Dean of the Business and Management School at Grigol Robakidze University and a Vice-Rector in the field of Science and Research at the same university.
At different times, he studied and completed his scientific internships, including Ph.D. research: at Tbilisi State University (Georgia), Institute of Government Accounts and Finance (India), Passau and Bremen Universities (Germany), Baltic International Academy (Latvia), Tartu University (Estonia), Ben-Gurion University of the Negev (Israel), George Washington and Harvard Universities (USA) and others.
Vakhtang has worked for such well-known international organizations as the Swiss World Economic Forum (contractor), British International Alert (senior researcher), Swedish V-dem (expert), American Carnegie Endowment and Frontier Europe (analyst), World Bank Group (academic fellow) and others. At different times, prof. Charaia has been teaching different courses at Chinese, Estonian, German, and Polish universities.
Vakhtang was an affiliated lecturer at the Institute for Strategy and Competitiveness at Harvard Business School (USA). In 2015, he won the competition of young researchers at the International Monetary Fund (the only one from Georgia). In 2018, Vakhtang was named the Best Young Scientist of Georgia by the Shota Rustaveli National science foundation. In 2021 he was given the Best Scientist award by the Business and Technology University.
At different times DAAD, American Open Society Foundation and USAID, Marie Curie, Georgian Shota Rustaveli National Science Foundation, Indian ITEC, Slovak NSP, International Monetary Fund (IMF), Poland Government and many other international organizations have named Vakhtang Charaia their scholar, grantor and/or competition winner.
Vakhtang Charaia has published 3 books and dozens of scientific articles in leading scientific databases (Scopus, Web of Science, EBSCO…) individually and with co-authors. He has participated in international conferences and forums held in more than 50 countries.
