Geocase Welcomes Ambassador Malkhaz Kakabadze as an Advisor to the Think Tank

We are delighted to announce that Ambassador Malkhaz Kakabadze has joined our think tank in a role of an advisor. 
 

Ambassador Malkhaz Kakabadze has a distinguished career as a diplomat and public servant, with a wealth of experience and achievements in various high-level roles. 
 

Malkhaz Kakabadze served as the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Georgia to the Kingdom of Sweden and the Republic of Finland from October 2016 to March 2021. 
 

Prior to his ambassadorial role, as the Minister for Special Assignments (Conflict Resolution) of Georgia from 2000 to 2004, Mr Kakabadze vastly contributed to conflict resolution efforts in the region. Furthermore, he negotiated the closure of Russian Border Guards military bases and the withdrawal of their forces from Georgia, personally signing the agreement in November 1998.
 

He has also participated in the implementation of Georgia's PCA with the EU and the creation of the Visa and passport systems as well as supervised a team working on joining the Council of Europe. 
 

Throughout his career, Ambassador Kakabadze participated in various international meetings, UN Security Council sessions, and took part in training courses organized by the European Union and NATO. His dedication to conflict resolution and rehabilitation projects in conflict-affected regions, such as the Gali region and Tskhinvali region/South Ossetia, showcases his commitment to peace and development.
 

Ambassador Kakabadze also engages in academic research.
 

He has been honoured with the rank of Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary.
